Sam Friesen ran across this neat bird in Newton last week and just had to see if any of you know what it is. Bring your answers to the meeting this Thursday at Jerry's place. Answer: That is a North American Navion. Formerly a military plane, but now in civilian use. From all I've read and heard about them, they are amazing planes with LOTS of room in them. I have never seen any other 4-place plane that has as much room in the back seat as a Navion. I would love to have one for cross country trips and a small bird of some kind for low and slow flying around the local area. If you want more info about the Navion pictured, go to the FAA website and look up the 'N' number for year of manufacture, etc. Mike B. and I saw this particular pretty bird on the ramp at Newton the day of the Hillsboro Chapter poker run. Sam I went back into the FAA site to get the info on the Navion pictured on our website. Here's what I found. Sam
